The Windgate Charitable Foundation is a private grant-making foundation established by an Arkansas family in 1993. The corpus of the foundation is comprised of donations of Walmart stock acquired by the family over many years.
Grant applications may be submitted at any time during the year, but generally submission deadlines would be March 1, July 1, and October 1. The executive director will notify the organization of receipt of the application and whether it fits within the foundation’s giving interests. Normally, the Board will meet in April, August, and November. Organizations should not submit more than one application every twelve months. You should first email the foundation office before submitting a full application.
After being invited to apply, an organization wishing to proceed with application to the foundation for grant consideration should submit:
a. A short letter (two pages) from the CEO or board chairman containing (1) a short summary of the request, (2) a brief history of the organization, (3) the project need and impact, and (4) proposed process outcome measures.
b. A copy of the latest IRS tax exempt determination letter.
c. A copy of your latest audited financial statement.
d. A current budget, including a budget for the proposed project.
e. A list of gifts and pledges to date, by category, and projected sources to complete the project.
f. A list of current board members.
